Anna Padilla, PE, CFM
Leon County
Stormwater Management Coordinator
(NWFWMD)

Does your local government/special district have an established stormwater utility or similar financing mechanism?
Yes.

How long have you been a member of FSA (years)?

I have been a member for over 15 years.

Have you served FSA in the past?
Yes, I have served on the Board as a Local Government Representative in the NWFWMD for the past year.

What abilities and attributes can you bring to the Board?
I have a broad base of stormwater planning, management, and design experience including water quality, water quantity, floodplain management, and stormwater utility. I have served in various private and public sector positions, which provides me with a unique perspective to projects and challenges. I am an active member of the Florida Floodplain Managers Association; since many aspects of stormwater management and floodplain management align, I can be a resource between the two. Finally, I am a visionary thinker and am passionate about environmental stewardship and public education, making me a great resource on the FSA Board of Directors.

What background and experience do you have in the stormwater industry?
I have over 20 years of stormwater experience working in consulting, permitting, and currently in local government Public Works. While in consulting, I primarily worked on stormwater master planning, water quality and quantity modeling, new and retrofit design, and floodplain mapping projects. During my time in permitting, I worked on a wide range of projects from large-scale development plan review to small residential sites working with property owners to address their stormwater drainage issues. Now, at Leon County Public Works, I serve as Stormwater Management Coordinator where I work on all aspects of stormwater projects. I serve as project manager for stormwater capital improvement projects from concept to construction and am the grant manager for the County's ongoing septic-to-sewer and septic upgrade projects. The County's comprehensive Water Quality Monitoring Program and the County's NPDES Phase 1 MS4 are implemented under my supervision. I work closely with County Operations for maintenance of the County's stormwater infrastructure and coordinate with our permitting department for floodplain management. In addition, I manage and oversee the County's stormwater utility.

Why do you want this Board position?
I have enjoyed serving on the Board for the past year and would like to continue advocating for the profession and advancing the organization.
