The FSA 2019 Winter Conference was held in Tampa, FL and featured two days of top-quality workshops focusing on a wide array of issues important to stormwater managers.  Attendees heard from water quality experts from local governments, the consulting community, FDEP, Water Management Districts and the FDACS!  The conference also had two pre-conference events; the “Improving Water Quality with Green Infrastructure and Low Impact Development” workshop and a tour of local stormwater projects in downtown Tampa.

Who Attended?

Engineers, scientists, stormwater managers, policy-makers and elected officials throughout Florida.

Hotel Information

The conference was held at the Hilton Tampa Downtown located at 211 North Tampa Street, Tampa, FL 33602.  FSA contracted with the hotel to set aside a block of sleeping rooms for all conference attendees at a discounted rate of $159/night and the Resort Fee was waived.

Parking Information

  • If you stayed overnight at the Hilton Tampa Downtown – You received complimentary valet parking.

  • If you did not stay overnight at the Hilton Tampa Downtown – You received the valet rate for parking at the Hilton of $16 plus tax for daily parking with in and out privileges. Self-parking was not available. 

  • Other Parking Option – The Fort Brooke Parking Garage is adjacent to the hotel and connects to the hotel via a sky bridge. The parking garage charged an hourly fee with no in and out privileges. The fee for 5 or more hours was $9.50.

Continuing Education

Florida Professional Engineers that attended the conference were eligible for continuing education on an hour-per-hour basis. Professional Engineers, Certified Floodplain Managers, and anyone who requested a certificate had to submit paperwork each day including their license number to receive credits. (FSA Provider #03854 – Area of Practice).


Registration opened September. The registration fee included all course materials, meals based on the day(s) you registered (a total of three breaks, two continental breakfasts, one lunch and a welcome reception), access to the workshop rooms, and access to the exhibit hall.
